Olivia Newton John was 73 and had battled cancer for most of her adult life. Judith Durham was 79 and had battled a lung disease for many many years. The latter two deaths may have been triggered by a vaccine, but were certainly not caused by it. We do not know what was going on with Christie McVie but we can bet that, at 79, she had some underlying condition/s. That's old age for you. It claims us all in the end.
I remember back in 1976 I was working at the Carolina Coliseum General Studies library, just down from the stage entrance at the concerts and Fleetwood Mac was playing that night. And Christine McVie and Stevie Nicks came in the library looking for the bathroom. Or at least Stevie was. I led her to the ladies room which was just a couple doors down past Coach Frank McGuire's office, coach was in and I stopped to introduce her to our USC basketball coach. Coach McGuire was quite taken with her and apparently she with him. I did notice her eyeing the bottle of bourbon on the coach's desk, and on her return trip from the bathroom perhaps they shared a drink.
She invited me to watch the concert from backstage if I liked, some guy said you're from the library and I said yes and he let me up the ramp, then some other roadie was going to run me off and Christine ran up to him and said "He's with me and Stevie!"
Minutes later, they went on, and it was great to watch some of it from backstage.
Later that night, working at the Club, one guy sitting at the bar said to his date, "Doesn't he look just like the guy we saw backstage?" "He really does." she said.
I told them "It was me, Stevie invited me up and Christine vouched for me!"
Naturally, they didn't believe me, but when I told them I worked at the Coliseum part time, they accused me of sneaking back there! "No really, I said, if Christine hadn't vouched for me the roadies were going to throw me out. I showed Stevie the ladies room and introduced her to Coach Frank McGuire."
