DEMATERIALIZATION
Dematerialization has several different meanings and here we deal with one of them.
This can be taken several ways as most ambiguous subjects can be.
The sexy promise of technology is quite alluring to us - especially in the midst of the multi civilizational collapse we find ourselves involved in.
But we appear to have come to the end of the technological progress - as technology itself comes to make irrelevant our own agency and creativity redundant and no longer necessary.
I wrote about this in early May 2024 as Apple released its widely unpopular ad for the onset of the new robotic and trans human agenda which seems to be dominating our age.
Please read so you can see the full context here.
We live in very superficial times and my own attempts to serialize my thinking in the form of essays sometimes gets out of hand.
I look forward to the time when Substack makes it possible to link our essays into chapters of a book.
As Bob Dylan once wrote
“When you bite off more than you can chew - you gotta pay the penalty”
And one would be forgiven for imagining that it seems that we are more than paying a penalty currently for our technological over reach.
Apple - along with Amazon and Amazon Web Services and Google and all the rest of the technocrats are putting all of their proverbial eggs in the artificial intelligence bucket.
After staying on the sidelines through much of the artificial intelligence craze sweeping Silicon Valley and the world for the past year and change, Apple finally unveiled its big AI plans on Monday. At its Annual Worldwide Developers Conference, the iPhone maker showed how it will integrate AI across just about every nook and cranny of its myriad apps, devices, and services, some of which will come via a partnership with OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The name that Apple’s landed on for the AI integration? Apple Intelligence. Or, umm, AI. It looks like Siri will no longer lament, like the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz: “If I only had a brain.”
But now we begin to see the writing on the wall - that the aim of the technocrats is to replace the human with the technological.
This has - as yet - to become a popular concept to all of us “useless eaters” and “hackable humans” they intend to replace.
The techno biological and the techno humanist and the transgender medical movement are all tied together in one big intention to make technocracy king.
I have written about this here on Substack for years and won’t burden this essay with any more on the subject.
We have come to the logical end of our attempt to see our religion and our spirituality and our very humanness in the guise of spiritual materialism.
Spiritual materialism is where we see - not the actual practice of our spirituality as being a natural and spontaneous part of our consciousness - but as a byproduct of some system we can build to take the place of this consciousness.
That allegiance of government - which seeks to rule over us - and the church - where the common purpose of both church and state come to dominate.
The church becomes a tax free arm of the state - forming a huge real estate empire - a temple for the moneychangers - yet another institution which also reinforces a lock-step thinking favorable to the state.
To the extent that different nation states form - with aligned systems of church and state set in such opposition to the teachings of their founders - that they begin to justify war and mass murder as a part of their religious practice.
It is likely not necessary to point out that this logic - taken to it’s logical conclusions leads to insanity - to a world where the very consciousness of the humans who practice such illogic becomes itself an illogical doom-scrolling towards the preference of the technological over the human.
A world where technology is seen as the ultimate perfection - and where humans - as so many faulty biological entities - are viewed as incapable of managing their own affairs.
The insanity of this is so off the charts that anyone can see it.
The fallible and incapable humans saw this clearly in the Apple ad and rejected the premise out of hand.
The technocrats and perhaps all of us appear to have bitten off far more than we can chew and are paying the penalty big time.
As I have also written previously, my suspicion is that some form of our technology is favorable and possible within the bounds of our ecological boundaries and is potentially in line with our spiritual goals.
But we must keep in mind that technology may also work against all of these and need to be abandoned due to these very things.
More on this subject in future posts.
Hopefully the humans of this world are capable of refusing to “be governed by enforced insanity”.
Everything went from bad to worse, money never changed a thing
Death kept followin’, trackin’ us down, at least I heard your bluebird sing
Now somebody’s got to show their hand, time is an enemy
I know you’re long gone, I guess it must be up to me
If I’d thought about it I never would’ve done it, I guess I would’ve let it slide
If I’d lived my life by what others were thinkin’, the heart inside me would’ve died
I was just too stubborn to ever be governed by enforced insanity
Someone had to reach for the risin’ star, I guess it was up to me
Oh, the Union Central is pullin’ out and the orchids are in bloom
I’ve only got me one good shirt left and it smells of stale perfume
In fourteen months I’ve only smiled once and I didn’t do it consciously
Somebody’s got to find your trail, I guess it must be up to me
It was like a revelation when you betrayed me with your touch
I’d just about convinced myself that nothin’ had changed that much
The old Rounder in the iron mask slipped me the master key
Somebody had to unlock your heart, he said it was up to me
Well, I watched you slowly disappear down into the officers’ club
I would’ve followed you in the door but I didn’t have a ticket stub
So I waited all night ’til the break of day, hopin’ one of us could get free
When the dawn came over the river bridge, I knew it was up to me
Oh, the only decent thing I did when I worked as a postal clerk
Was to haul your picture down off the wall near the cage where I used to work
Was I a fool or not to try to protect your identity?
You looked a little burned out, my friend, I thought it might be up to me
Well, I met somebody face to face and I had to remove my hat
She’s everything I need and love but I can’t be swayed by that
It frightens me, the awful truth of how sweet life can be
But she ain’t a-gonna make me move, I guess it must be up to me
We heard the Sermon on the Mount and I knew it was too complex
It didn’t amount to anything more than what the broken glass reflects
When you bite off more than you can chew you pay the penalty
Somebody’s got to tell the tale, I guess it must be up to me
Well, Dupree came in pimpin’ tonight to the Thunderbird Café
Crystal wanted to talk to him, I had to look the other way
Well, I just can’t rest without you, love, I need your company
But you ain’t a-gonna cross the line, I guess it must be up to me
There’s a note left in the bottle, you can give it to Estelle
She’s the one you been wond’rin’ about, but there’s really nothin’ much to tell
We both heard voices for a while, now the rest is history
Somebody’s got to cry some tears, I guess it must be up to me
So go on, boys, and play your hands, life is a pantomime
The ringleaders from the county seat say you don’t have all that much time
And the girl with me behind the shades, she ain’t my property
One of us has got to hit the road, I guess it must be up to me
And if we never meet again, baby, remember me
How my lone guitar played sweet for you that old-time melody
And the harmonica around my neck, I blew it for you, free
No one else could play that tune, you know it was up to me
This is where we reach the end of the beginning, with AI in everyone's pocket, or purse. The changes will be slow, at first, even resisted by Musk an others (disposable), but increasing in strength, while we fight over scraps found in the street (with wild animals).
Seem incredible! It won't be.
