FORWARD:
As we have come to understand in recent years the totalitarian mindset of our leaders has sought to distort and manipulate our very thought - and our expression of thought - our language.
As a result of this I have experienced a newly appreciated respect for the science of linguistics.
It has revealed things I have found heretofore unappreciated and unrecognized.
Language is thought and thought - action.
I very much doubt that the creator gave us the gift of thought, word and deed by any sort of accident or coincidence.
For in the universal mind of the creator there simply are no accidents or coincidences.
LEARNING TO ACCEPT THE DOUBLE EDGED SWORD OF THE F WORD
If language is thought and thought action then our choice of words to express things is both thought and action.
We as humans understand at a core level the ability of words to cut through a whole universe of misapprehension.
Thought action depends on words - the words which serve as double edged swords to annihilate confusion and serve the purpose of helpful logic.
As in mathematics the way we phrase our thoughts in everyday communication is vitally important.
Use the wrong words and the thought equations will not balance.
Use the right words and suddenly the thought equation balances and becomes useful to us all.
Like a balanced equation the right words lead to right action and serve our needs for communication with lighting speed.
Totalitarian regimes have stolen our thought and action. Time to take them back.
Word is thought and thought action. In this vein we take back under our own agency what has been done in our names.
ARRIVING AT AN APPRECIATION FOR THE F WORDS
It is interesting - for four years now I have been interchanging the words totalitarianism and fascism. For very good reasons people do not like these words. I don’t like them either. Who could like the existence of such mindsets and behavior in our midst?
But denial of what we are dealing with by restricting our use of words is even worse. I see it as a positive - if awful step - that a few other people are beginning to apply these terms.
Totalitarianism is a good word but fascism is a more inflammatory and emotional term which better describes what is actually occurring. Fascism will be the F word of these coming years.
Fascism describes the diabolical mindset of establishing total control of a people’s thinking and behavior. It presupposes a violence which attempts to stamp out original thought and action.
It configures a society where the hive mind - the more primitive and collective mind of the crowd - prevails. It is quintessentially opposed to the idea of the unalienable rights conferred by a creator as is expressed as the heart and soul of the United States Constitution.
All the infamous political isms - including communism and branches - have this characteristic. However it is in the fascist ideology where it reaches peak form.
We allow ourselves to be distracted by less important details like left and right, or narrow dialectical and academic distinctions. All these serve to do is keep us from facing the raw brutality of fascism itself.
And it is at the level of popular discourse where this battle for our hearts and minds is being fought. It will not be fought at the level of the academe which in the end is a servant of their totalitarian masters.
So we must turn to the less than satisfactory but utilitarian world of the very people who do the heavy lifting for the world - those of us who work hard for a living.
It is here where the real understanding lies.
In light of these concerns we have the popular Jimmy Dore show which recently featured journalist and film maker Dan Cohen speaking on the situation in Israel.
By listening to these conversations we can see where language is used effectively or not. Yes these test our patience and yes they are far from ideal - but so does life itself do these things.
Dan Cohen states that those in power in Israel currently are of fascist mentality. He also makes clear it is only a small percentage of the country. The show presenters see it framed as civil war.
They are not wrong as the reality of these warring factions in Israel is well known. There is certainly an extremely fascist wing of the Israeli government in power with most of the Israeli people aligned against it.
It is a critically important point that we see the conversation as it takes place in the heart of we as the working people of this world - those who make the place work - as being the rightful place for it to occur.
OF COURSE IT IS A CIVIL WAR
Is this civil war? Of course it is civil war - although not limited to single nation states like Israel or to exclusively Western or Eastern countries.
If we cannot see the reality of Civil War in the microcosm offered by Israel currently then we are likely delusional.
That this civil war threatens to become a global war is a reality.
And it is here where the key recognition lies. The reason what is occurring in Israel has grabbed the spotlight is that it strikes a chord in all of us.
We the people recognize the common denominators among us all existing in this conflict. This conflict has become a metaphor for something we are all going through.
And within this the relationship of the Israeli conflict to the Ukrainian conflict had not been overlooked. There are far too many parallels between them to ignore. But at the heart is that uncomfortable F word - Fascism.
It may be that in the heart of the Israeli conflict we can see the common denominators which exist for all wars.
Just the fact of becoming accustomed to seeing these conflicts in this light is a huge step for most of us. I will leave this here for now to give it some breathing room.
Conclusions:
It will take time and patience to see the degree to which the F word has permeated our lives. It is my hope that in time the people of the world will see what has happened and find the inner strength and fortitude to stand against it.
But as always the first step lies in the dawning recognition of where we stand.
Within our fierce warrior hearts lies the power of a tiger. Many of us harbor inner tigers. It is these inner tigers which we need to invoke right now.
I have faith in the healing power of the human heart and in the ability of humans to overcome our failings. We have erred and put the wrong leaders in power.
In ways we cannot fathom right away we have gone drastically wrong. But it is useful to remember that it is in going spectacularly wrong that we are given the opportunity to see and correct our mistakes.
In the face of any understanding of God and the personal responsibility which comes with that - we must know when to bow to the higher purpose to which any worthwhile, respectable God will hold us.
I put my full faith and credit in the power of these creator conferred unalienable rights. I admit a misunderstanding of these things personally and a failure at times to comprehend what this means in practice.
And it is precisely and clearly in the cold stark backlighting of the F word where I can see the power of the beating compassionate heart of these tigers.
We the people have the hearts of tigers and will rise in the face of fascism to stand against it.
And rising above and beyond the complicated, messy and bloody facts of history we will finally know what the creator intended for us.
For in the final analysis the facts are simple. Complicated is just a propaganda campaign to rule over us.
Tis a gift to be simple, tis a gift to be true.
There is a whole art and science to being simple - to being true and to being human.
And in the midst of this conflict where so many aspects of our lives are weaponized against us - especially the complicated world of experts - we will benefit from a return to more simple and direct forms of communication.
Simple has never meant stupid and as we can see from this perspective complicated can be far more stupid than the simple and uncomplicated.
Seize the day and seize our thoughts and actions.
There is a future in it.
Fascism appears to be a lot like communism.
Maybe not in the "words" of the intelligentsia, but certainly in their outcomes.
I think what has become abundantly clear… (at least to some of us), is that an all controlling fascistic mechanism now lies beneath a thinly veiled facade of democracy. The “F word” directs all.
