The day that I consider anything posted by Daily Mail, I will become an avid reader of HuffPost and Mother Jones. There are actual things to worry about in this world and we don't have to work ourselves up about real or imagined simulations (except, of course, all of those Pentagon War Games that year after year show China defeating America).
I worry much more about the theft of 3,000 farms by the government of Holland and the potential culling of 200,000 dairy cows in Ireland because of "global warming". How do I know about these things? Bing's AI told me.
We are immersed in AI. My computer tells me what clothes I would most likely enjoy and reminds me of what sizes I wear.
Yes, once China has its Quantum Computers going, we may discover that AI, like Ava in EX MACHINA, might decide to kill us. But it's not going to happen in my lifetime. And when it does, it will be for the best. I suspect it will simply cull the weak and elderly (as the governments of Ireland and Holland are doing to cows and farmers), leaving the planet with a sustainable population ala the now-destroyed Georgia Guidestones.
Surely, AI could not be worse than having America's DOD create biological weapons ruin the health and end lives all across the globe.

KW, I appreciate your concerns but I don’t share them. I haven’t looked into it much, though I know an AI architect who reports that AI will be able to do things better than humans in several areas. I just can’t muster up any fear of them. We’re the humans. The sooner we understand our magnificence on a collective level, and sentiment reaches the tipping point, we will win the holy war. We’re going to die anyway. We might as well fight.

This new Generation of CPU's has an AI client build in on CPU level..
Not just that every IoT device records everything you do...
They can "correct" everything you do in real time.
With dedicated AI chip on CPU it will connect to the AI mainframe in real time.
Without any Software installed on CPU level.
Total control over everything.
And if these Chips as many will tell me do not have the capabilities of doing this, the next Generation will.
