Forward:
Today I am taking some time to recognize the power that SubStack and other Silicon Valley platforms have which go out of their way to accommodate free speech.
Free speech is a powerful process - and one absolutely necessary to any society which aims to attain a high bar of freedom and equality.
BILLIONAIRES AND FREE SPEECH
Here on SubStack - the premiere alternative choice for those of us pursuing topics very unwelcome in so-called mainstream media - the billionaire class is a favorite target in our continuing fight against tyranny.
Billionaires - like big tech executives - do not possess one point of view - and they tend to be very protective of their own rights to free speech and personal agency.
Unfortunately too many billionaires - bent on achieving absolute power and wealth - are totally uptight and authoritarian in thought - spirit - and action.
But as trends change in larger society - trends change among billionaires as well.
A friend sent me the following from billionaire Mark Cuban - which indicates a more free thinking attitude than most of his billionaire cohorts.

As Cuban points out - the trend on most alternative media is now squarely aligned with an anti-totalitarian mindset.
If we take time to look carefully at the statistics of alternative media we can still see that it may be highly skewed - away from this trend - as reflected here in the list of the top earners on SubStack. 1
However the consciousness - and politics - and spiritual allegiance of the world is changing - and Americans with it - as we all grow weary of the trend toward authoritarianism.
We can also expect that those who are big earners as a result of their understanding of trends - such as billionaires and those who run Silicon Valley corporations - will take notice of this trend away from authoritarianism.
Many of us with decidedly anti-authoritarian points of view are beginning to see a sharp uptick in our readership.
All of us - billionaires included - are tending to rethink just about everything we have been taught as a culture.
As we - as writers and content creators - come to better formulate our thoughts - those which run contrary to the trending mainstream lockbox on the mind and heart - we will continue to stay in touch with the way in which the minds and hearts of our readers are also trending.
Trends are fickle and amusing things - and don’t normally turn on a dime.
Massive sea changes such as we are undergoing now begin very small.
But these small changes have a habit of picking up power and becoming formidable tidal waves of public opinion.
Where ever the minds and hearts of the people are headed - so will the media - and the tenor of public conversations - follow.
It is more than evident that the people do not wish to underwrite the incessant wars of the world’s military industrial complex - or to suffer the latest indulgences of the Big Tech billionaires.
We have been living in a world which favors mediocrity over genius and a trending narrative which favors those without talent or creativity.
As we come to once again prefer excellence over mediocrity it will be reflected in the work of writers and content creators.
As the quality of the work writers and content creators improves to more accurately reflect the trending narrative in the hearts and minds of the people - the pendulum will swing back toward excellence.
Mark Cuban, the man who forced his basketball players to get the vax or be fired. The owner refused to let unvaccinated people buy tickets to his games and said that the unvaccinated should be put in camps.
Cuban can stick it. He lost credibility with his little stunts, and he won't get them back.
Appreciate the restack!
