Once we realize that the shackles are an Illusion... the spell is broken.

They are nothing without us... people hold the real power.

Ever wondered why there is so much anger and a push for conflict in war in all directions?

While at the same time people are busy being angry at each other they fail to appreciate the beauty of life? And the real mystery of life? The reason for our existenz?

Why are we here? What is life? Who created us? for what purpose?

These questions have never been answered... yet they hold the key to why all of this controlled demolition of the Human race is happening.

Is this The Way Life's Meant To Be?

This song by ELO The Way Life's Meant To Be...very strong lyrically very powerful describes what is going on... and it is going on for a long time.

You are describing a book Mountain of Crumbs. Exactly what happened in the USSR. Do you know what flee insurance is, it is what people used to get out of Nazi Germany. The collapse will be like a thief in the night, stage 7 of an empires’ collapse is bread and circuses. We are in stage 7 not sure how long it will last?

I believe we are in the end stages of this collapse to end all collapses!

Maybe the totalitarians overplayed their hands this time?????

OMG, I found the article in the August 1981 issue of Psychology Today. It was written by Kurt Vonnegut in one of the most extraordinary essays. Marvin Harris also wrote a worthy article in the same issue which is how I attributed the wisdom to Harris rather than Vonnegut. Never the less, here is the link. Best wishes. https://particle.physics.ucdavis.edu/Misc/Semmelweis.html

Vintage Vonnegut = "They want to put us back on the snake oil standard".

Gotta love Vonnegut for seeing through the gaslighting.

Great link and thank you so much!

"Corrupt their minds, turn 'em to liars, / I groom 'em well." I think that Clipse line shows perfectly how it's honesty at the beginning, and if you remove that, you get everyThing else.

Maybe that is a short definition which fits gaslighting very well?

Yeah, and it gets the intergenerational impact of it, too. Of course, all these entertainers are likely gaslighters themselves, and not just unintentionally.

It is true that many of the entertainers are gaslighters - look at the demonic collapse of Hollywood! But it is up to us to be discerning about who got used by who - and why. It is quite purposefully over complicated. "If you bite off more than you can chew - you gotta pay the penalty"

You’re right, and that’s amusingly one of my biggest problems in that regard. Who is telling the Truth? Or being sincere, rather. There are some rules of thumb I’ve heard, and you want to stay away from any one-eyed men.

Civilization itself might be viewed as the perfected art of the gaslighters lording it over the gaslit...

Bravo!

Indeed, an entire planet of propaganda (Pop).

Yes, gaslit, propagandized and victims of psychological warfare.

Geez - no wonder we have issues!!

12/12/12 was my last day at GE Aviation and I haven’t looked for gainful employment since. I somehow achieved my goal of “not having to work” ever again. I stepped off the treadmill of life and a whole new world opened. I quit watching the news, I quit watching mindless tripe commonly referred to as entertainment. I left the Matrix and went on a search for truth. YouTube and historical documentaries, old movies, music videos from concert tours I actually attended back in the day. I haven’t watched network programming of any kind since 2012. Shit, I wouldn’t even watch cable news now if it weren’t to have a duel to the death with the gaslighters. It’s Pavlov’s dogs all over again. Most people don’t think anymore, they react. Kinda like the school bell between classes. You don’t think about it. You are conditioned to react.

I guess that makes me a tinfoil hat crazy conspiracy theorist…before it was cool.

In the late 80s, Psychology Today magazine published a think piece by Marvin Harris, anthropologist. Because of open access to factual information, he predicted we were entering a new era whereby people could see through the game of the "Guessers." He called them Guessers, you call them Grand Poobahs. He did not anticipate the Guessers would then seek to control and guide that information to their benefit. One of the richest and most sure thing investment sectors is the little talked about "Media and PR Consulting" niche on Wall Street.

Great comment and thanks for letting me know about this piece.

I wish someone would begin writing a definitive history of the truth about our civilizations - but yes being gaslit is unfortunately deep in our psychology.

It was the late 70s maybe 1978 as I recall. I have looked long and hard to find a reprint or something and never found it. Maybe it was "memory holed" as it was a devastating hit piece on the ruling guessers. Harris referred to them as Shamans also. If you think of our leading politicians as merely Shamans who guess, it becomes much more understandable.

Having grown (grown, that is the perfect metaphor) a distaste all governments anywhere, I say the hell with them. Which brings me to this:

“War is when the government tells you who the bad guy is.

Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.”

Yes, indeed and the ultimate in successful gaslighting is when they manipulate humans into dying in wars for the benefit of the grand poobahs.

War is when the government tells us who is the enemy. Revolution is when we discovered who is the enemy.

I never heard such prophecy before. Benjamin Franklin was so great.
