Thucydides ROCKS! As does the movie KUNDUN. SEVEN YEARS IN TIBET is another sweet movie that features the haunting sounds of those ultralong Tibetan horns.
While being assaulted daily by thoughts of the likely pending apocalypse and the great culling most of us expect, it is often hard to find the light behind the clouds. For me, meditating to any one of the four Hemi-Sync INTO THE LIGHT CD's keeps me from singing the blues.
The continuing potential for redemption, grace, and light will continue and grow. As Thucydides helps remind us all we have been dealing with the abuse of kleptocrats and the perpetual wars for perpetual peace for a long while. I know these Tibetans. They have the strength to move mountains. Cheers!
Tibetans, like Americans, are a mixed bag. All it took was one traitorous general to allow the Chinese troops to overwhelm the defenders 72 years ago. Still, having heard the Dalai Lama speak at the University of Indiana many years ago, I am still awed by the man's presence and those faithful who hope Tibetan Buddhism can still exist after Tenzin Gyatso passes away.
PS. I love that Van Morrison record. ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY THE MOST might be my favorite song; but that changes from minute to minute.
Yes, our family has been long term students and supporters of the Dalai Lama. A bit thrown by his most recent political moves but then desperate times? He's a great spiritual leader
