THE PERFECT STORM?
Sharing one viewpoint on one of the difficult situations facing our civilizations

This is very complete article by Dr. Tim Morgan, global head of research at tullett prebon. It is a thorough discussion describing a “perfect storm” in the form of the end of the fossil fuel economy. I’ve had this document for awhile, find it interesting, and decided to share it here.
I feel this is likely to have a great deal to do with the current situations we find ourselves in. While not in agreement with all of Dr. Morgan’s points I do agree we are facing this sooner than later. It would be useful to open a discussion based on these observations.
It is difficult to impossible to understand these forces at work and fail to see connections to policies being initiated by those involved in global government. Because there seems to be more than a degree of panic to these policies it is useful to explore connections to the end of the Fossil Fuel Economy (FFE).
It isn’t necessary to be aligned with all of these points to understand the forces. Complete with lots of data to absorb this is a very well written article. This situation will determine much of what happens in politics if it is well understood.
But this is only one point of view on the phenomena. The decisions to be made about our individual and collective present and future are made more immediate by considering these forces. It will be up to all of us to help decide how we can mitigate the impact.
Earth Berm housing (like geo-thermal heating) takes advantage of nature's insulation.
I attended Michigan's first Solar Heating class decades ago and went to two seminars at MSU that were top-loaded with scientists and engineers. At the first seminar, passive solar was emphasized as a small addition to conventional (fossil fuel) systems for home heating. At the 2nd seminar, I was told that it would take 10 years to recoup the cost of a wind-generation system and 100 years to recoup the cost of solar cells for providing energy to a home..
My wife recently purchased a solar generator to help keep the refrigerator running during power outages. Besides that, having south facing windows seems like the best use of solar heating.
Concentrated Solar Energy sounds magical and I suspect those who expect to see the world rely on it as a replacement for fossil fuels are victims of their magical thinking. It was nice to see all those pictures of ancient ruins posted and it makes one wonder which modern architectural wonder will survive the Dark Ages to come.
It is easy to imagine all of the USA looking like New Orleans' Jazzland in twenty years.
