A neat story I heard about Mark Knopfler. He was in a TV and appliance shop in England and MTV was on. One of his songs played and his face was beamed out from about 40 TVs. No one recognized him. He was waiting for something and there were two young workers moving goods around with hand trucks. One of them said ‘That aint work if that’s all you’re doing. Playing your guitar on MTV.’ The other one said ‘That’s money for nothing’. The other ‘and chicks for free’. ‘I should have learned to play the guitar.’ ‘I should have played my drums.’ A boss comes around and chastises them and says ‘we got to move those micro wave ovens, custom kitchen and refrigerators’. Meanwhile Mark pulls out a notebook and writes down all their comments. Out of that comes one of his biggest hits ‘Money for Nothing’. Not as brilliant as ‘Sultans of Swing’ but a monster hit.

Great story which I believe I heard a version of also. Mark is a real human being with a real soul a great talent. Many true musicians are that way.

After reading what you posted here I had to drive to pick my son up. The first song playing on my song list was ‘sultans of swing’. Odd coincidence.

First of all - Mark Knophler - one of my very favorites. Good to see him in a studio doing what he does. By lovely chance, was listening to him and Emmylou on my way back from errands - All The Road Running.

Ah, the NYT. A normie friend is opening the slightest bit and recently acknowledged he never listens to CNN or MSNBC anymore, he agrees, propaganda. But, of course, he still starts his day with "The Times." I did roll my eyes.

Thanks, KW.

My face is aching from the required I rolls these day. Occupational hazard of grandmother conspiracy theorists I’m afraid. Knopfler is amazing and all great minds think alike. Gotta love those great guitars.

Another Successful Fascist: "Also, it should be mentioned, Jan Sramek..He counts mega-hedgie Peter Thiel as a role model."

"In 2003, he won a scholarship from George Soros’s Open Society foundation to Cambridge. Later, he transferred to the London School of Economics to focus on finance."

London School of Economics has been training eugenicists since its founding in 1895 by the Fabian Society.

Why anyone believes that you have to be particularly intelligent to work in banking and investments is beyond me. Both are clearly rigged games.

California is pretty amazing. It is being ruined now, as we speak. But a 500 mile by 50 mile strip from San Fran to San Diego more or less invented the modern world. Movies, TV, computers, the internet, modern medicine, the Zeitgeist, all California. Hippies, Yippies, cults, LSD. All California. Or most at least. I spoke with people from India and Russia. The biggest single factor in the modernization and overthrowing of their traditions was….this will blow you away….BAYWATCH!! The Russians and Indians I knew saw Pamela Anderson bouncing her boobies up and down and saw beach living Cali style and they all said ‘that’s what I want!’
