My English Professor, while teaching us Andrew Marvell’s “To His Coy Mistress” gave the same interpretation of the Latin…pluck the day, as if it were a short-lived flower.

On Spiritual Warfare, or War in the Heavenlies: Jude 9.

Lucky you - my English professors taught Camus, Gary Snyder, Milton and Shakespeare!!

Except for brief spate of Latin in the 6th grade I was late to this party!

Same Professor also taught Romantic and Shakespeare & would give an “A” if a cadet would “certify” that he had memorized 1200 lines from either course. My roommate aced both. The Professor, H.N. Dillard, B.A. English VMI, MA English, Harvard & PhD, English, Oxford. Decorated WWII officer. Died in the classroom in ‘76, teaching his students.

Only to be born with a gifted mind that reacts like a sponge to its environment coupled with innate coded wisdom that understands the human condition with all its diversity and on any level of intelligence. Understanding that every being and movement has its agenda. When you embrace truth every door opens before you. When you are conscious of every aspect of your being and surroundings you are on the path to becoming a super human being

Yes they are understandable, even if it means giving up everything but our firearms.
